  • Doggie Daycare

    • Yes! Doggy daycare is good for most dogs.

Bringing your dog to daycare has its benefits, including those that improve your dog’s quality of life:

      • Plenty of mental stimulation and physical activity: Not only does this tire your pup out, but it can also reduce unwanted behaviors like constant barking.

      • An outlet to expend excess energy, exercise, and remain active: Your dog will be able to participate in daily exercise through group activities. Participants play in a cage-free environment while enjoying the freedom to stretch their legs.

      • Eases separation anxiety: By giving your pup time away from you in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment, dog daycare gives your pup great practice for alone time. Our staff will give your dog the attention and care they need to help make their stay as low-stress as possible.

      • The chance to socialize with other dogs of a similar size and temperament: Dogs are social animals, and they benefit from spending time with other dogs! Each dog is evaluated to ensure appropriate and comfortable play with the other dogs, and maintain a completely safe and healthy environment. If your dog doesn’t do well with other dogs, they can still benefit from a dog daycare—group play will be replaced with one-on-one playtime with our staff.

Keep in mind, however, that if your dog is reactive (common among dogs who were rescued from abusive owners), dog daycare may not be the best idea. Please let us know if your dog struggles with aggression, and we can discuss whether behavioral training is recommended before checking in.

    • Daycare is recommended as often as possible! Dogs are highly adaptable and enjoy a routine that is predictable. Most commonly dogs will come between 2-4 times per week, but we very often see dogs upwards of 5 times a week! The exercise is wonderful to keep them entertained and socialized, and they will make “friends” they can consistently see and interact with at daycare. We love to see your dogs as often as we can and establish our own relationships with them, in turn making them much more comfortable while in our care.
    • If your dog will be participating in Doggie Daycare while at K9 Resorts, in order to provide the most safe and enjoyable environment possible, our trained and certified staff evaluates every dog on their first day. During the evaluation process, we are assessing the temperament of your dog and their compatibility with a group of dogs.
    • Dogs are social animals that need exercise and stimulation, and doggie daycare is the best way to provide both! Dogs that are approved for doggie daycare will come home happy, tired, and ready to come back! Most dogs do require an adjustment period from what they are accustomed to, but typically after your 2nd or 3rd visit, your dog will pull you to the door, tail wagging, and will be excited to see the staff and play with their friends. Some owners have even told us they cannot use their “daycare trigger word” in the house unless they intend to bring their dog that day, or else they get so disappointed when mom and dad don’t end up bringing them to daycare. Don’t get offended if they don’t say goodbye, we promise they’re just appreciative you’ve found a fun place for them to be, and will be thrilled to see you later in the day!
    • Yes, dogs that are 30 pounds and over are evaluated for our large playgroup. Dogs that are 29 pounds and under are evaluated for our small daycare playgroup.
    • When your dog is being evaluated for doggie daycare, we take a few steps to ensure the safety of all guests that utilize our daycare services. Dogs are social animals by nature, but some may not acclimate well to a larger group setting. Our evaluations will allow our trained staff to determine who is a good fit for our daycare group and who would be more appropriate for one-on-one activity. Our staff will take it slow with all dogs, most evaluations lasting at least 3 hours, if not more. During this time, we are introducing your dog to our existing group of dogs one at a time, so as not to overwhelm the new dog, and allow them to greet our pack slowly and safely. We encourage you to leave your dog for the entire day in order to allow them a full day of fun with their new friends and ample time to acclimate to the environment and our staff.
    • We require 4* vaccines to be up to date: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo Bordetella ("Merck Nobivac Intra-trac3" Intranasal is strongly preferred), and Canine Influenza (“Nobivac Canine Flu Bivalent” version is strongly preferred as it protects against both canine influenza H3N8 and H3N2). Canine Influenza is required at most K9 Resorts locations and strongly recommended at others. Please contact your local resort for more information).
    • It is best practice to call us as soon as your dog's plans have changed. No deposit is required for daycare reservations and there is no penalty for cancellations up to 72 hours before your reservation. Cancellations within 72 hours of your reservation will result in a full daycare charge to the credit card on file or a reduction of one (1) day from your daycare package. No refunds will be issued.
    • Yes. In order for them to participate in doggie daycare, they must be altered by 10 months old. This is subject to change depending on the dog and is up to the discretion of the staff to determine if it is safe for the dog to remain in daycare until 10 months.
  • Luxury Boarding

    • Dog boarding is housing your dog at a facility outside of your home while you are away from your home for any period of time. K9 Resorts specializes in cage free luxury boarding for your dog, to ensure they are pampered while in our care.
    • Traditional boarding for pets many times includes concrete flooring, wire or metal cages or runs with little close interaction with (often inexperienced) staff. K9 Resorts wanted to change the stigma of the harsh "kennel" environment, and provide pets and their owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members were comfortable and well cared for. Our Luxury Suites and Executive Rooms are cage-free options for overnight stays. These are approximately 8'x8' and 5'x7' respectively-sized accommodations that allow for plenty of space for all sized dogs to board comfortable. Each accommodation comes with a Kuranda dog bed, feeding of our premium Blue Buffalo Sensitive house food and all activities included in the price. K9 Resorts also offers comfortable compartment options for dogs that are happier in a smaller space, or for puppies who are used to being crate trained at home. All of these top of the line luxury boarding options are available at every K9 Resorts hotel location.
    • Most pet care facilities do not provide overnight staff. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with video surveillance and protected by a central station alarm and a fire system at all times. In order to maintain a stress-free environment and promote a restful night, we do not have staff exploring the facility overnight. Most dogs are asleep before we lock up and we tend to wake them upon arrival in the morning. Our staff is here from approximately 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
    • Absolutely. As long as they are 100% people friendly, we can still board them and they will receive personal one on one playtime with our staff.

    • We virtually never experience issues while utilizing our in house diet. It is not normally recommended to switch a dog’s diet suddenly, however at K9 Resorts, we feature a premium all natural, veterinarian developed, sensitive stomach formula specifically created for dogs while in a boarding environment. Therefore, we strongly recommend utilizing our house diet, which is included with your dog’s stay. If your dog has allergies, or a medical condition that requires specific food, you are welcome to provide food from home, which we will gladly serve for a small additional fee
    • Our professional opinion is that if a dog is visited by someone they know, they tend to think they are going home, which may upset them. From that point, they must start the adjustment process all over again, causing avoidable stress. We strongly recommend not having visits.
    • In order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, we do not allow anything with fabric into the facility. Both of our cage-free rooms come with a premium Kuranda bed, and our compartment accommodations are equipped with a comfort mat for your dog. An upgraded bed is also available by special request.
    • Absolutely. We can accept any toys that are made of rubber and/or plastic. In order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, we do not allow any fabric toys. We strongly advise against bringing rawhide toys, or anything that can be easily broken into small pieces, or might become a choking hazard.
    • Of course, please include any instructions with the person who will be dropping your dog off to ensure accuracy in his or her care. We will need to add their name to the account as an approved pickup person, and we will ask for ID when they come to pick up.
    • Definitely, we will provide you with an update via phone or email. We frequently post on social media, so be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook!
    • Yes, dogs from the same family can board together, in most of our accommodations and additional dogs in the same accommodation can receive up to a 20% discount. We reserve the right to upgrade the dog(s) to a larger accommodation and/or separate them into separate accommodations if we feel it is in the best interest of the dog(s)’s health and safety. K9 Resorts cannot be held responsible for any disagreements between dogs while sharing an accommodation.
    • In order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and ensure all of our guests, including your dog, stay happy and healthy while they are with us, we do strictly enforce our Bordatella vaccine requirement
    • Yes. In order to ensure your dog returns home fresh and clean, a dog bath is required for any guest staying 2 nights or more.
    • That’s not a problem at all. We just ask that you let us know ahead of time that you’ll be coming early so we can prepare your dog appropriately for an early departure and have everything ready for you when you arrive without a wait time!
    • No. We have staff here 365 days a year to care for dogs. Only the lobby is closed on specified holidays for pick up and drop off. Please contact your local K9 with any additional Holiday questions.
    • Yes. All of our accommodations are all inclusive, meaning you may choose from all day group play or individual play with a member of our staff at no additional cost
    • We do not, however you are welcome to call or email any time to check in on how your dog is doing and our friendly staff would be happy to provide you with an update. We also frequently post photos and videos on our social media pages.
    • Each K9 Resorts location is independently owned and operated, therefore pricing varies by location. Please contact your local location and a member of our friendly staff would be more than happy to assist you, or click the pricing tab above.

    • Dogs can be boarded at any K9 Resort location for as long as necessary! Ask us about our special pricing options for long- term boarding. Typical stays at our resorts range from 4 to 10 days in length.
    • We do not require dogs to be altered while boarding with us, however, for them to participate in doggie daycare, they must be altered by 10 months old. This is subject to change depending on the dog and is up to the discretion of the staff to determine if it is safe for the dog to remain in daycare until 10 months.

    • Our boarding facilities are fully equipped to handle dogs of all shapes and sizes. After a few stays at K9 Resorts, most dogs adjust very well and many actually look forward to all of the playtime with their friends. If your dog is not a regular yet, you might consider bringing your dog to our location for daycare prior to an overnight or extended stay, not only to solidify the type of activity they will be doing while boarding, but also to allow your dog to get used to the facility and have a better overall experience. This allows our staff an opportunity to learn your dog's personality, and only enhances their comfort upon staying for a longer period. The transition is significantly easier when they have had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the environment and the staff. The dogs will also get used to you dropping them off and picking them up, which should eliminate any potential anxiety during this process. You can drop your dog off at K9 Resorts as early as 9 am and up until closing at 5:30 pm, but we do encourage you to drop off your dog as early as fits within your schedule as this gives them ample time to settle in on their first day.
    • After the excitement of their vacation at K9 Resorts, it’s important to ensure your dog adapts well to being back home. While boarding, your dog received access to unlimited water both in the daycare area and in their accommodation overnight. However, it is still likely they might seem very thirsty upon returning home. This is a common reaction to the excitement of being back at home with their family. Please withhold water from them for at least the first hour that they are home, and once you see they have calmed down and reacclimated, you can then allow them access to their water bowl. Drinking too much water too quickly may lead to GI discomfort, vomiting or bloat. Similarly, we recommend waiting at least three hours from the time you arrive home to offer their next feeding. Again, they will be incredibly happy to be home.. Like the side effects of drinking water too quickly, eating too quickly may cause the same discomfort and sometimes bloat. Walk your pet upon arrival home or allow access to a yard area. Excitement may also cause a change in urination or bowel movements outside their normal schedule. Give your pet some personalized attention – Some play time or sitting and petting or brushing them will help get through the excitement stage and calm down. K9 Resorts is a highly active environment, with the dogs interacting all day, every day they are boarding with us, whether it is in the doggie daycare with other dogs, or with our staff members during their private playtime. Even if your dog did not run all day, just being awake for longer hours than they are used to and thus may lead to your dog being more tired than usual when returning home. This should not impede their ability to eat or drink normally, and their lethargy should go away within 48-72 hours. While in Doggie Daycare most dogs love to play vigorously and wrestle around with each other all day. This interaction is exceptionally good for socialization and for your dog to burn energy. During this play, it is NOT uncommon for some dogs to leave with minor cuts or scrapes. They love this type of play and we have trained supervisors always monitoring the group. Rest comfortable knowing that we absolutely do not have aggressive dogs at K9 Resorts but dogs do have teeth and nails and use them when engaging one another, at times resulting in cuts or abrasions. While K9 Resorts staff are very attentive to your dog’s behavior and interactions, it is possible for minor cuts or abrasions to go unnoticed. – Although rare, occasionally some rough play may result in more moderate injuries. Again, we do have certified staff always monitoring the dogs, however no amount of supervision or personalized care from K9 Resorts can be 100% certain to prevent a dog from being injured.
    • Our first core value is the commitment to the happiness and comfort of all our guests. Our second core value is that we make all experiences a WOW experience. This is why we have taken the time to research and determine the best house dog food to provide, free of charge, to all our overnight guests. Blue Buffalo is a premium, all natural, dry dog food, that is a prescription diet, specifically designed for sensitive stomachs and boarding situations and is appropriate for all ages and breeds. Using our house diet also allows us to adjust the feeding based on your dog's weight and activity level during their stay. For these reasons, it is strongly recommended that you use our premium house food, provided at no additional charge. However, if you do need to bring your food from home, we can accommodate most special dietary needs, as well as medication needs (no injections). We simply ask that you separate all feeding and medication administration into separate Ziploc bags for each feeding, to ensure your dog is getting the proper amount of food and/or medication. Please be aware that there is a small fee if you choose to bring in your own food from home. You may also bring toys from home if they are rubber, plastic, nylabones, Kongs, or any other hard and non-porous material. No fabric is allowed at any K9 Resorts location, for the health and safety of all guests. You are also welcome to bring treats from home at no additional cost, as we will only give dogs treats that their pet parents have provided to us. All of your pets personal belongings will be inventoried and stored appropriately until checkout.
